I'd really just like to go into Time Machine and tell it to do a full system restore, but like I said there are no full system restore files to choose from. I'll restore it the long way by installing the OS and pulling files off a folder at a time. It still reboots due to a problem so today I am going to replace the hard drive in this computer. I bought a bootable USB drive that had the OS on it (works brilliantly and I don't have to backdate the system!) Yet Time Machine still says there are no full system backups so I don't have to mess around with doing it the long way. I know there are indeed backups as I've been able to pull files from the drive. When I tried to restore from Time Machine backup, it said there were no full system backups to choose from. It got stuck in a reboot cycle and promptly trashed the hard drive. Recently I had a catastrophic failure (thanks iTunes update). ![]() Plug and play right? Turn on Time Machine, select the disk and let 'er rip. I've been using Time Machine and Time Capsule since I got my Mac set up. This when it decides it has to UPDATE ALL THE THINGS! and stuff breaks, prompting the trips to town. Once in a blue moon I turn on my phone's hotspot to download a song or something. When I need to update software, I throw it in a back pack and take it into town where I usually connect it to my father in law's internet and remote the thing with Splashtop either from my phone or my wife's iPad. Okay guys I've researched the crap out of this and don't think I've found what I'm after.Ī little background: I have a Mac Mini running OS 10.9.5. ![]()
